FAQ

How do I calculate X% of a number?

Multiply the number by X and divide by 100. 15% of 80 = 80 × 15 ÷ 100 = 12.

How do I work out percent change?

(new − old) ÷ old × 100. From 50 to 65 that's (65−50)÷50×100 = +30%.

Why does percent change direction matter?

A 50% drop needs a 100% rise to recover — percent changes aren't symmetric because the base changes.
